Founder
ASHLEy scotland
Passionate, tenacious and resilient, Ashley has a background in Psychology and the unique insight and skill set relevant to Thriving Survivors.
A survivor herself, founder Ashley Scotland came to realise that the crucial support that was needed was not available, by using her own life experience and extensive knowledge of how trauma impacts on everyday life she launched Thriving Survivors Ltd.

paul rooney
Paul is an accomplished transformational executive, non-executive and business graduate with two decades of experience in strategic leadership roles. Paul’s focus on support and advocacy is demonstrated by a diverse career that includes service as a procurator fiscal depute, an elected politician and now as an owner of a successful digital & management consultancy. His ongoing commitment to ethical finance has led to national recognition for his investigations into the impact of Pay Day Lending and Fixed Odds Betting Terminals (FOBTs).

Company Director
David Sinclair
David is a well-known newspaper journalist and media figure. He was Assistant Editor (Business) of The Herald and left that role 11 years ago to head up lobbying, communications and media issues for Victim Support Scotland, a national charity. Then he became the founder Board member of Thriving Survivors with the remit of recruiting other Board members and handling all media and communications matters. David is currently Managing Director of WellScot Holdings, a social enterprise company. He is also providing communications and administrative support to the Scottish Government.

Trustee
Gillian Middleton
I have worked predominantly in the third sector in senior management and executive roles and have developed my skills in organisational, operational and strategic management. I currently hold a post of Depute CEO with a national third sector organisation. I have served on the North West Glasgow Voluntary Sector Board and I am an Associate of the Cattanach Trust. I enjoy working with and for organisations and their stakeholders to strengthen and develop their services and processes for the advantage of those they support and serve in their local and wider communities.
I hold an SVQ 5 in Leadership & Management & PDA in Delivering Training to Groups, and I enjoy delivering learning and development for organisations, staff and volunteers to support capacity abuilding and continued professional learning and development.
I am a trained in Scottish Trauma informed leadership practice and I am delighted to utilise my skills to contribute to the dedicated work of Thriving Survivors. I look forward to continuing to work with my fellow members and the Chief Executive to develop and strengthen the strategic objectives of the organisation and its service delivery.
