As a Trustee, you will:

Trustee Role
As a Trustee of Thriving Survivors, you play a vital role in ensuring the organisation's effective governance, strategic direction, and sustainability in its mission to support survivors of trauma. You are responsible for always acting in the best interests of the charity, demonstrating a commitment to its values and mission.
Key Responsibilities
· Strategic Leadership: Contribute to the development and implementation of the organisation's strategic plan, ensuring it aligns with its mission and values.
· Governance: Uphold and promote good governance practices, ensuring the organisation operates ethically, transparently, and in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
· Financial Oversight: Oversee the financial health of the organisation, ensuring resources are managed responsibly and effectively.
· Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks to the organisation and implement strategies to mitigate them.
· Fundraising & Advocacy: Actively participate in fundraising activities and advocate for the organisation's mission and the needs of survivors.
· Board Engagement: Attend and actively participate in board meetings and committees, contributing constructively to discussions and decision-making.

· Passion for the Mission: A deep commitment to supporting survivors of trauma and empowering them to thrive.
· Strategic Thinking: Ability to think critically and contribute to the organisation's long-term vision and strategic direction.
· Financial Acumen: Understanding of financial management principles and experience in overseeing budgets and financial statements.
· Fundraising & Advocacy: Experience in fundraising or advocacy, or a willingness to learn and actively participate in these activities.
· Governance & Leadership: Experience serving on boards or committees, or a demonstrated ability to provide leadership and guidance.
· Diversity & Inclusion: A commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion within the organisation and its services.

Trustee commitment:
Trustees are expected to actively participate in quarterly Board meetings, contribute to the annual Board away day for strategic planning and team building, and serve on at least one committee aligned with their skills and interests. Additionally, trustees may be called upon to provide ad-hoc support based on their specific expertise or areas of specialisation, further contributing to the organisation's mission and success.
Trustee Renumeration:
Thriving Survivors recognises the valuable contribution of our trustees. While the position is voluntary, we understand that fulfilling your duties may incur expenses. Therefore, we will reimburse reasonable expenses for travel, accommodation, and food necessarily incurred while conducting business on behalf of Thriving Survivors. This commitment ensures that trustees are not financially disadvantaged while dedicating their time and expertise to our cause.
