This webinar sets out to explore with learners the ranging dynamics within this complex issue and will explore support and intervention approaches for: the child harmed; the child who has caused the harm; parents, carers and the wider family. Â
The course will consider psychosexual factors and drivers that can drive sibling sexual abuse & behaviour, offering approaches to support whole family systems in addressing the harm and methods in supporting recovery for all impacted.
This event is an introduction course and will be followed up with an optional full day in person training covering wider factors of sibling sexual abuse & behaviour. Â
Participants that sign up for both the webinar and full day training will receive a 30% discount. Â The face-to-face training day will be held on 20th August at 9:30am to 4:45pm in Glasgow, venue TBC.

Your Facilitators:
David Russell: David, the Development Lead and Service Manager at Thriving Survivors, spearheads the development of Restorative Justice. Previously, he served as the Community Safety & Justice Manager at Midlothian Council. With a background as a senior practitioner at Barnardo's, he has specialised in assisting children and young people affected by harmful sexual behaviours, abuse, or exploitation, and has extensive experience in assessments and interventions for vulnerable individuals in the realm of sexual harm and violence, including custodial settings. As an independent trainer, David has delivered multidisciplinary training on sexual violence globally. He sits on the NOTA Scotland executive committee and chairs the Community Justice Scotland network, advocating for restorative justice, especially in cases of sexual harm.
Amy Adams: Amy is a doctoral researcher at the University of Birmingham, her research centres on sibling relationships in the context of abusive sibling sexual behaviour. Amy is the author of ‘Family characteristics, responses and dynamics associated with sibling sexual abuse: A scoping review’. Amy previously worked as a researcher on the England and Wales Home Office-funded Sibling Sexual Abuse project.
