Debi is an Account Executive in the IT sector, focused on the improvement of front-line services through the delivery of Digital transformational business solutions.

 

Debi has been a Board trustee for 3 years and recently stepped into the role of chair at Thriving Survivors.


Debi has 30+ Years’ experience working across both Public and Private Sectors and brings her strong business knowledge, enthusiasm, drive and desire to make a difference and to support the Charity to deliver the right outcomes.

  Derek May  

Derek is currently pursuing a portfolio career as an entrepreneur, investor, non-executive director and business advisor.


His areas of expertise include business start-up, growth and exit, strategic planning, sales and business development, turnaround, change management and mergers & acquisitions.

 
Derek is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and in his spare time, he enjoys football, working (unsuccessfully) on his six pack at the gym, politics and current affairs.

  Gillian Middleton  

Gillian has 15 years' of experience working in the third sector.

 

She hase gained various leadership and management qualifications that now support her role in executive level management with a national organisation. In her current role she is able to bring a range of strategic experience and operational transferable skills to support the Thriving Survivors board and organisation at large.

​

Gillian is a trauma informed, trauma responsive leader with a particular interest in strategic growth, stakeholder and organisational development, workplace culture and curating fit for purpose policies and procedures.

  Jayne Laidlaw  

Jayne has served Scotland’s voluntary sector for over thirty years supporting people affected by social disadvantage, abuse or trauma. 

 

She holds qualifications in Community Development, Counselling & Psychotherapy, Contemporary Scottish Law and Leadership & Management and is a Member of the Chartered Management Institute.

​

She is currently Managing Director of a small charity supporting people with autism or learning disabilities to live their best lives by tackling social exclusion.

  Ashley Scotland  

Ashley is an accomplished Chief Executive with over 8 years’ experience of working in the third sector and her focus on support and advocacy is demonstrated through the creation of Thriving Survivors, a charitable organisation established in 2016. 

 

A true entrepreneur, Ashley is a powerful force in the workplace and uses her positive attitude and tireless energy to encourage others to work hard and succeed.

 

Ashley was responsible for the successful delivery of a National Consultation on behalf of the Scottish Government to better understand the level of demand, as well as the views of survivors of domestic and sexual abuse on the topic of Restorative Justice. Ashley has since gone on to design, develop and implement a national restorative justice service for survivors of sexual violence.

Tony Livingstone

Tony has been with Thriving Survivors for 6 years. Starting as a volunteer he have held a number of positions, including Group Facilitator, Mentor and Partnership Worker.

 

Now as Head of Operations at Thriving Survivors, Tony is delighted to be leading a talented team of staff and volunteers as we deliver our core services to survivors across the UK.

 

Tony is passionate about "recovery" and fully committed to helping survivors to truly thrive.
