Thriving Survivors is a Glasgow based organisation dedicated to supporting survivors at every stage of their healing journey. We provide trauma informed services that centre lived experience, safety, trust, and empowerment.


The Role

We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Counsellor to provide one-to-one therapeutic support to survivors who have completed Stage 1 mentoring. This role supports survivors in deepening their healing journey through structured, ethically grounded counselling.


Key Responsibilities

·       Deliver individual counselling sessions tailored to survivors’ needs and goals

·       Use trauma informed, person centred approaches that promote safety, empowerment, and emotional regulation

·       Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records in line with GDPR and professional standards

·       Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns in accordance with organisational policy

·       Adhere to ethical frameworks (e.g., BACP, COSCA) and maintain professional boundaries

·       Participate in regular clinical supervision and reflective practice

·       Complete CPD (up to 35 hours annually) in compliance with BACP and COSCA

·       Collaborate with mentors and the Service Lead to ensure continuity of care

·       Support readiness assessments, therapeutic reviews, and exit evaluations

Essential Skills & Experience

·       Recognised counselling qualification and membership/accreditation with BACP or COSCA

·       Experience delivering trauma informed therapeutic support

·       Strong understanding of safeguarding and ethical practice

·       Ability to maintain boundaries and confidentiality


Salary: £15 per hour

Hours: 20+

Contract: Fixed for 12 months
